Christmas Decorations.

This year I put up a Christmas tree--that is I pulled it out and set it up. It didn't need to be put together--its one of those small ones. I pulled off the decorations that had come with it, the tree was given to be my a friend who moved and didn't need it anymore. She had some simple unbreakable ornaments on it that had started fraying. They were like styrofoam wrapped--it's hard to describe.

Anyway, I pulled out some of the decorations that I have collected over the years. I have gravitated toward things made out of fabric, even before I became a quilter. I also put on some decorated eggs that my mother had made or bought somewhere. They look really nice on the tree, nicer than they looked when the were in the bag. I have some breakable, old ornaments that I didn't do anything with this year. I did buy a new container for them! :}

I have the problem that I have more decorations than I have room for--places to set things out. I guess some people move a lot of things in order to set out Christmas decorations.

Last year I didn't have hardly anything put out. It was just too messy and it would have been like decorating the mess, just too strange.

I have the tree, a few things on a book shelf (in front of the books), one of them I have there is this Snoopy on top of a doghouse, it's a plastic thing that used to have candy in it. I really like it--I'm glad it didn't sell when I was trying to sell it!

I also decorated the back half of my kitchen table. There are some rocking horses, a few angels of the sort that I like, and some candles. All of these things I have tended to want to collect. I do have lots of candles. But there was this one I seem to have sold or something. I couldn't find it, anyway. It looked like bark, rather unusual, but I thought it was neat. It just worked out that the colors of everything look good together, golds, greens, reds, and some touches of other colors.

I am particular about angels. I don't like most angel figurines that look like women with beautiful hair. The one's on my table are more like children dressed like angels, or ones that are not feminine looking. Those are the kind I like. All the angels in the Bible are male.

I am enjoying looking at my decorations, even though no one ever comes that anyone else would see them. I thought of taking pictures.
